I HATE ANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS, I HATE ANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, now that everyone clearly knows where I stand with the ant population, I feel a little bit better.

Hate is such a strong word. I really don't like using this word very much.

The definition of hate according to dictionary.com is to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest. Yeah, I would say that pretty much fits how I feel about ants.

As of last week, we had ants in our kitchen, in center square, in one bathroom, and in the master bedroom. One of my friends brought me her stash of ant bait to try out. I think I may have went a little overboard, as I put one of every kind of ant bait that she had out. I figured that the ants would have to like at least one of the "flavors" of the ant baits. It's now been a few days and the ants are gone in every room except the kitchen. Of course, like S pointed out to me...how do I know which of the ant baits is the one that made the ants disappear since I used like 5 different kinds? Good point, but as of right now, I don't care as long as they are gone.

I swear the ants must have our kitchen wired with a camera, so that they know the instant a crumb is dropped on the counter or floor. They're also not stupid enough to fall for the ant bait when they know if they just wait something better will be coming along shortly. Our countertops and floors are just the right color that they hide dirt and crumbs well. This would be great in the U.S., but here I'm not too fond of them when I can't see a crumb until I see the million ants it has attracted.

Anyway, my frustration with the ants continues. One of these days I'm just going to snap with the ants and go postal on them. Oh wait, how can I go more postal than taking bug spray and bleach to them? Maybe I should seriously consider getting an anteater as a pet. Maybe I should try ant voodoo.

Ugh, in the meantime, I'm going back into the battle zone. Now, I'm going to try sprinkling crushed red pepper flakes around...someone told me this may work to keep them away. I'll try anything. If you don't hear from me in a few days, don't worry as I'm pretty sure I weigh too much for the ants to carry me too far!

P.S. Did I mention in this post that I HATE ANTS?????

Ok, I tried the crushed red peppers...like the super-size bottle from Sam's Club...in the garden in hopes that the squirrels would leave my daffodil and tulips bulbs alone. No such luck. Whomever gave me that advice had no clue. I hope it works with your ants though!

You would think you have a 19 month old in the house dropping crumbs and spilling juice everywhere. A friend told me to use bacon grease mixed with I think baking soda and I don't remember what else..you might look on the internet and see what things are out there.
